Designed by a florist. Refined by a designer. Made for creatives.
Welcome to the new chapter in a creative journey that began in the flower fields and wedding venues of the English countryside.

I’m Marianne and for over 12 years, I ran a seasonal wedding floristry and flower farming business Frances & Rose. Before that, got an art degree and then I worked in interiors — where I first fell in love with the language of colours, fabrics and textures.
I’ve brought all I know of the wedding industry, seasonal flowers, nature and colours together to bring my new passion to life - luxury silk ribbons for creatives.
The Frances & Rose silk ribbon collection is made for florists, stylists, stationers, creatives - basically anyone who cares deeply about the colours and the details.
My ribbons are hand finished, soft, richly coloured, and designed to drape beautifully. Every shade is carefully chosen — no guesswork, no inconsistencies. Just elegant, timeless colour from someone who’s stood in your shoes (with secateurs or a moodboard in hand).
Whether you’re tying up bridal bouquets, styling flatlays, or finishing an invitation suite, my ribbons will be the perfect thing to add the final, thoughtful touch.
My Story
My creative journey began in the arts, where I studied textiles, ceramics, photography, and sculpture, ultimately earning my Art and Design degree in 2012. While my foundation was in fine art, I unexpectedly found myself drawn to floristry—teaching myself both the craft and the business. I built a thriving floral business, embracing the British Flowers movement from its inception and championing the Grown Not Flown ethos, positioning myself as a leader in a rapidly evolving industry.

In 2022, I published Cut Flower Growing, a book that distilled over a decade of hands-on experience. Writing it was both a cathartic and pivotal moment in my career, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

After completing my final wedding commission at the end of 2024, I transitioned into a dynamic freelance career, spanning writing, photography, marketing, and floristry. My art practice continues to evolve alongside these projects, and I am always looking ahead—bringing creativity, expertise, and passion to every endeavor. I’d love to collaborate with those who value artistry, storytelling, and craftsmanship in their work.
